    • other documents at the request of the Insurer, allowing to objectively establish the fact of the occurrence of an insured event and determine the amount of expenses incurred;

    Insurance of costs associated with the cancellation of a trip abroad is paid separately:

    Cooperating with various companies, today we have more opportunities than ever to choose the direction for travel. Traveling abroad, however, is associated with certain risks, which are hidden in a different climate, different mentality, legal environment, etc. It is the agency that is responsible for the client at the final destination of the trip by issuing a mandatory insurance policy.

    One of the types of insurance obligations is also insurance against not traveling abroad, which guarantees the client the return of the cost of travel or advance payment when the trip is canceled for certain reasons. If this is not done, then the well-known principle “the later the ticket is returned, the less its cost will be returned” comes into force. This is logical, since many parties are logistically involved in ensuring the rest of each tourist: airlines, owners of excursion routes, hotels, consulates, etc.

    What is travel insurance

    Such insurance is not obligatory, besides, you will have to pay up to 15% of the total cost of the tour abroad for it. And this, you see, is not so little with the existing economic situation and financial capabilities of the majority of the population.

    Some tour operators strongly recommend using this opportunity, since under such conditions a legal and predetermined mechanism for reimbursement (or non-refund, if not in accordance with the terms of the contract) for non-departure comes into force. For the above reasons, most customers neglect this option. But at the same time, one should not forget that travel insurance allows the client to return up to 90% of the money spent on a trip abroad.

    There are plenty of reasons that can radically adjust plans for a trip abroad at the last moment. Some of them can in principle be foreseen (for example, problems with paperwork), and some can be taken by surprise (for example, illness). For the sake of truth, it should be noted that the tour operator will not respond to absolutely all force majeure moments of the client’s non-departure, because he is not obliged. The list of those reasons that serve as the basis for launching the mechanism for indemnification is accurately and in detail spelled out in the optional insurance contract.

    There are time frames that you need to fit into by giving your consent to travel cancellation insurance: no later than 3 days after paying the cost of the tour and at least 14 days before it starts. If, after depositing funds for a trip abroad and insurance, events that are specified in the contract occur on the account of the tour operator, they are recognized as insured events. Reasons that are not included in the list of stipulated are called exceptions or non-insured events.

    When You Can Expect Compensation

    Most insured events that make it possible to claim compensation from a travel agency when traveling abroad are the same for insurance companies. There are the following compensatory conditions for travel cancellation insurance:

    • sudden death or illness of the client, as well as his immediate family (parents, brothers, sisters, children), which may require an urgent outpatient course of treatment;
    • the fact of death or serious illness of relatives, which requires interruption of travel or not to travel abroad;
    • contraindications to vaccination, if such is provided based on the epidemiological situation in the travel area. This rule applies to the tourist and his accompanying relatives;
    • critical damage or destruction of the transported property, which prevents a planned trip abroad;
    • litigation in relation to the client or involving him as a witness;
    • handing over to the client a summons from the military registration and enlistment office for the purpose of serving or planned fees;
    • refusal to issue permits to the client himself and his accompanying persons, who are covered by travel insurance.

    What are non-insured events?

    The reasons that are not prescribed in the insurance contract and are not compensatory in case of not traveling abroad include:

    Where can you get this kind of insurance?

    When drawing up an option agreement when traveling abroad, there is no need to seek help from specialized insurance companies - everything is drawn up on the spot at the tour operator's office.

    Advice! Before signing any documents, you must carefully study their composition. V this case special attention is paid to the subject of the contract - the list of insured events.

    It is preferable to use this option if the trip abroad is expensive or the travel object is located in a country requiring a visa regime. It is worth noting that if you have travel cancellation insurance, it does not matter at all how much time is left before the start of the tour: 2 weeks or an hour before departure, the client will be able to count on a fixed amount of compensation.

    What is the monetary equivalent of such a guarantee

    The amount of compensation for losses depends primarily on the price of the tour itself and on the conditions that are laid down in it. The total cost of travel insurance includes two components:

    • the cost of the insurance policy, which ranges from 1.5 to 5% of the tour price;
    • franchise, which will cost another 10%.

    In total, it turns out that those who wish to play it safe in case of cancellation of a trip abroad will have to lay out an additional 11.5-15% for the tour.

    Features of policies of various tour operators

    The above range of prices for obtaining insurance (1.5 ... 5%) depends not only on the basic cost of a trip abroad, but also on the company that organizes it. Different operators offer different option conditions, and therefore it will not be superfluous to orientate themselves in them using the example of Anex Tour and Sunmar (Sanmar), which occupy prominent positions in the country's market. They include basic (in whole or in part) and additional conditions.

    Optional insurance against non-departure "Anex Tour" covers the costs of the client for registration and purchase of a ticket in the amount of:

    • up to 2000 $ for the direction of Turkey, Egypt and upon payment of a fee of 30 $;
    • up to $3000 for a trip to Thailand and $45 contribution.

    When drawing up an insurance contract against travel abroad, the deductible is not taken into account, that is, when paying compensation, the insurance company will deduct the cost of the contribution from the client.

    Important! The purchase of a policy is possible if at least 7 days remain before the start of the trip (as opposed to 14 standard days).

    Registration of insurance against not leaving "Sanmar" is carried out with the assistance of such companies as "Consent", "Ingosstrakh", "VSK Insurance House", "SK Swiss-Garant". The signing of the contract is possible only after receiving an advance payment from the client and no later than 7 days before the trip.

    The policy allows you to cover expenses in the amount of:

    • from $1,000 to $5,000 with a one-time fee of $18 to $83, respectively, and choosing the company "Consent". Travel destinations: Morocco, Bulgaria, Greece, Spain, UAE;
    • from $1,000 to $3,000 and an installment from $38 to $108 for Ingosstrakh. In this case, the client will be able to go to the Dominican Republic, Mexico or Vietnam;
    • from $1,000 to $8,000 for the VSK Insurance House policy. The fee will be $23-243 for Thailand and Tunisia, and $53-403 for India and Andorra;
    • from $1,000 to $10,000 in cooperation with SK Swiss-Garant in the Cyprus direction. The insurance premium will be in the range of $14-303.

    The final time of registration of the contract is 7 days before the start of the tour. When paying compensation, a standard deductible of 10% is taken into account.

    How to act in the event of an insured event

    If the tour is in jeopardy and one of the reasons specified in the contract is to blame, the tourist's actions must be as follows:

    • within one day from the moment of occurrence of the insured event, the tour operator is notified;
    • an official written statement is written;
    • provision of all necessary documents confirming the refusal of the tour, as well as consumables (checks, tickets, reservations, etc.);
    • waiting for compensation.

    When all the requirements are met and the conditions of the insurance coincide with those provided for in the contract, then there should be no problems with the payment of compensation for not leaving. The only thing that still needs to be taken into account is the impossibility of insured events coming into force when the voucher itself has not yet been paid or was "burning". The cost of insurance against travel abroad is not included in the total price of the tour, but the correct disposal of this tool can save up to 90% of the money spent.

    Good day! Please advise on the account of registration of insurance against recognizance.
    We are going to Turkey with a small child in a month and a half. I immediately set out to take out travel insurance. When buying a tour (through Anex), the agency manager said that insurance would cost 5% of the cost of the tour. Since it was still in January, I did not delve into it then and decide to take out insurance later. Now I found out that my friends got insurance for only $ 30 per person, while the cost of the tour was 2 times higher. As they explained to me, this is standard insurance from Anex. I asked my manager why she offered insurance for 5% of the tour, which is not cheap, and did not say about insurance for $ 30. To which she began to explain that she offered me more expensive insurance from ERV, that there is more coverage and that in this case the agency itself takes care of sending the insurance documents. At the same time, she said that insurance for $ 30 had to be done immediately when buying a tour, but I didn’t know that!
    Tell me please,
    How are these insurances different? On the Anex website, in the insurance section, I found a description of the conditions, but there is no Turkey in the list of countries.
    Does it make sense to overpay?
    - Is it true that standard insurance is no longer possible to issue?
    - What is the deadline for obtaining insurance before departure?

    Alas, but I don’t really like the way the manager provides information, this is not the first time.

    Insurance against not leaving the TO is issued only immediately when buying a ticket. That year, such insurance cost us about 2 thousand rubles, for 2 + 2 for 2 weeks, at Sanmar.

    Later, insurance can be issued independently in insurance companies, and it will cost already in% of the cost of the tour. Unprofitable.

    Friends do not confuse. It's a shame the manager didn't tell me about it right away! I called the local insurance, almost no one does this, either in conjunction with agencies only. Insurance comes out more than 3 thousand rubles, for 10 days for 2 adults.

    Insurance comes out more than 3 thousand rubles, for 10 days for 2 adults.

    It depends on the cost of the tour. In one insurance company that year, they counted me about 8 thousand for insurance against not leaving. Therefore, I took it with the tour from TO.
    This year we decided not to take out travel insurance. They didn’t take it right away, now it’s too late. And it will work mainly for the period BEFORE THE TOUR. for a period less than 16 days before departure. If you cancel the tour more than 16 days before different reasons, then a fine of $ 30, you can do without insurance.
    In case of unforeseen circumstances, while you are already on vacation, the return plane ticket is still taken for your own money.

    Well, I'm saying 5% of the tour now you have to pay, otherwise it would be 60 bucks for two.
    Can anyone tell me how many days before the deadline to issue insurance?

    And why, when interrupting the trip, the ticket is at your own expense? I kind of read under the conditions that expenses are reimbursed?

    But anyway, if there was a choice right away - I would have thought about what to take.

    get away from this TA...

    there, the coverage is more like, there is no deductible and it includes not only an illness with a hospital, but also outpatient treatment, and childhood infections.

    well, it's good that such insurance is extensive, leave everything as it is ...

    Oh, yes, I already realized that I made a mistake with the choice of the manager and TA (((If only there were no overlays on the trip!
    But even then, tell me - when making a tour, the tourists did not yet have passports, so only the full name is indicated in the contract. Now we have passports. Need to renegotiate a contract?

    Thank you.
    And the case of the closure of the border of the Russian Federation can be provided for in insurance? (closures for the security forces, in connection with the latest events in Ukraine)

    MOSCOW, April 24 - RIA Novosti. Employees of the Russian drug police were not banned from traveling abroad, but only advised not to visit countries that signed an extradition agreement with the United States, Director of the Federal Drug Control Service Viktor Ivanov explained to reporters on Thursday.

    Information that all employees of the Russian law enforcement agencies were banned from traveling abroad appeared in the media on Tuesday. Until now, such restrictions could apply to those employees who had access to classified documents.

    However, already at the beginning of this week, representatives of the Federal Drug Control Service, the Federal Penitentiary Service and the Federal Migration Service assured that it was only a recommendation to refrain from traveling abroad.

    RIA Novosti does not have a comment from the Russian Interior Ministry, but sources in some regional divisions confirmed that police officers were also advised not to travel abroad for the time being.

    “The Federal Drug Control Service has not issued regulations to prohibit employees from traveling abroad. But they were advised to follow the recommendations of the Foreign Ministry,” Ivanov said.

    Back in September last year, the Russian Foreign Ministry recommended that Russians refuse to travel abroad if “there are reasonable suspicions that American law enforcement have any claims against them.

    The Foreign Ministry took such a step against the backdrop of increasing cases of detention of Russians in various countries with the aim of their extradition and prosecution in the United States. Among such cases are the arrests of Russians in Lithuania, Spain, Costa Rica and the Dominican Republic.

    Dozens of countries have signed a mutual extradition treaty with the United States, including the United Kingdom, Turkey, Thailand, Spain, Poland, Portugal, Latvia, Lithuania, Israel, Greece, Germany, the Czech Republic, South Korea and others.

    According to the Law on the Fundamentals of Tourism Activities in the Russian Federation, insurance is voluntary, but in practice, travel operators must insure their tourists traveling abroad of the Russian Federation. Any tour purchased from Anex Tour Travel Agency in Yekaterinburg will necessarily include medical insurance. But we can offer others additional types insurance:

    Extended medical insurance:

    As a rule, this is a policy that includes the maximum set of risks, including exacerbation of chronic diseases, risks associated with pregnancy, early return from the country of travel, luggage insurance and legal assistance, depending on the set of risks, it will cost an average of 7-10 % more expensive than standard insurance.
    And the formation of extended insurance may be of interest to those tourists who assume the occurrence of the cases described above or go for active sports, such as skiing.

    Using standard programs will take very little time to design:

    • Extended medical insurance with coverage up to EUR 100,000,
    • Injury insurance (including those related to sports),
    • Loss of luggage insurance
    • Insurance civil liability help out if you accidentally cause any harm to third parties during the trip.

    Cancellation insurance:

    Our more than 10 years of experience shows that it is not enough to buy a tour. Life is full of surprises and sometimes they happen at the most inopportune time for this. Injuries that prevent you from making a trip, the death of loved ones, refusal to issue a visa - this is not a complete list of reasons that may prevent you from going to a vacation spot. And according to the terms of booking tours, it is not always possible to refuse a tour without deducting the actual costs from the operator. To reduce such risks, our managers will offer you to take advantage of travel cancellation insurance, which covers the above cases.
    This may be especially interesting for those tourists who are going to travel to visa countries with a heterogeneous composition of tourists (grandparents, parents, children, etc.).

    We offer a selection of the best offers for tours from Yekaterinburg:

    Prices for all tours without extra charges (direct contracts with leading tour operators in Russia),
    included tours under the promotion "early booking for 2017" and hot tours:

    100% relevance of favorable prices for tours:

    Save a link to search results, share it with your friends or put your favorite offers in the basket.
    Fill out an application for a tour - this does not impose any obligations on you, but will allow the manager to quickly understand what you want.

    Still, travel insurance is more related to trips on a tour. But in case you are traveling on your own and want to apply for it, you can do it in person or online (for example, through the service). Although, of course, independent travelers have more room for maneuver - they can take return tickets, make unpaid hotel reservations, etc., so travel insurance is much less relevant for them.

    However, everyone’s situations are different, so after reading the following text with an analysis of all the main issues, you can decide for yourself whether it is needed in your particular case and to what extent (some insurance companies issue visa refusal as a separate item).

    Insurance against travel abroad

    Who needs it and why

    What is travel insurance and when is it required? Usually it is bought together with a trip abroad at a travel agency. Moreover, without even noticing it, since for some tour operators it is immediately included in the cost of the tour, and in order to refuse it, you must write an application. Independent travelers make such insurance very rarely.

    As a rule, tour operators selling trips and tours abroad speak about the need to make travel insurance (although it can also be done when traveling around Russia). Large tour operators, such as Biblio Globus, Tez Tour or Pegas Touristik, advise their customers to always take out this travel insurance. But, Insurance companies try to minimize their costs and formulate insurance conditions so that most of the risks are not their responsibility. That is, in reality, insurance can work in quite rare cases. Therefore, some tourists prefer to save money at this point, considering the risks negligible. But still, when buying an expensive tour, or planning a costly independent trip, or taking into account your personal circumstances, you may still decide to take out this insurance.

    Travel insurance - is it necessary?

    Travel cancellation insurance is most relevant if you are going to countries where you need to apply for a visa in advance for entry (primarily the Schengen countries). You pay for the tour in advance or buy tickets on your own, book accommodation and suddenly you are denied a visa. Just in this case, you can make sure.

    If you are going to a country where a visa is issued on arrival or is not needed at all for a short stay (for example, Thailand), you can also insure yourself against not leaving if you really want to, because not issuing a visa by the embassy is not the only reason why a trip can be disrupted . More on that below.

    How much does insurance cost, where and how is it issued

    Personally, I’d rather take the traveler’s insurance itself at a higher price, and I would forget about such options (insurance against non-departure, against flight cancellation, etc.). Moreover, even if I went on a tour, I would buy a separate travel insurance, since insurance from tour operators is usually so-so. I spoke in great detail about traveler insurance and all the nuances associated with them in.

    Of the documents for registration of an insurance policy, only a passport is required.

    The cost of insurance depends on the total cost of your trip, usually from 1-5% of the tour price. Through tour operators, when buying a tour, it will be cheaper to make travel insurance than when you buy a policy from an insurance company yourself, as individual. The terms of insurance for all companies are different, some necessarily require a signed contract with a travel agency, others do not. Another typical condition for buying insurance is that it must be purchased at least a few days or even 2 weeks before the start of the tour, that is, in advance.

    In case you are traveling on your own, you can estimate the cost of travel health insurance in advance using this one, both with and without the no-departure insurance option, and decide whether to add this option or not. The cost will vary depending on the amount of trip cancellation insurance (500-5000 cu), and the risk of visa refusal is selected as a separate item and also increases the cost of the policy. But you need to understand, since such insurance is usually offered by travel agencies, you can buy it directly from rare insurance companies. But I know that Ingosstrakh sells a separate travel insurance.

    In some insurance companies, you can choose what exactly to insure against: against visa refusal, illness, or all together. The cost will naturally also differ, the more risks you insure, the more expensive the insurance. For example, against non-issuance of a visa with a minimum insurance amount, pay 500 rubles, and for all risks with a maximum insurance amount of 10,000 rubles.

    What to do to receive a payment, a list of documents

    The first thing to do after the occurrence of an insured event is to notify the insurance company about it. Usually, according to the contract, this must be done within 48 hours. The next step is to file an application with the insurance company. In the application, you can indicate the number of your account, where the insurance should transfer money. You also need to collect Required documents confirming the occurrence of an insured event.

    The list of documents for the insurance company (depending on the specific case) may include:

    • Extract from the medical history;
    • death certificate;
    • Certificate from the police confirming the damage to property;
    • Summons to court;
    • A summons to the military registration and enlistment office;
    • A copy of the visa denial page;
    • Documents confirming the actual expenses (receipts, checks, etc.).

    What is included and covered by insurance

    This is perhaps one of the main questions. Because, if you figure it out, getting a payment for insurance against your own recognizance is not so simple.

    The sum insured is paid only upon the occurrence of an insured event. The list of insured events is prescribed in the contract. Therefore, first of all, carefully read the contract. And remember that insurance in any case covers the cost of services, documented minus the cost of the insurance policy and the franchise (if any). Only actual, documented losses are reimbursed. If hotel reservations or tickets can be canceled free of charge, their cost will not be reimbursed by the insurance company.

    When are they usually paid?

    So what are the most common insurance cases in practice for travel insurance?

    • Denial of a visa (Schengen or any other) to the insured or one of his fellow travelers if they are close relatives (parents, children, spouses, siblings). Only a few insurance companies pay damages if the travel companion of the insured, who was not given a visa, is not his close relative, but books the same room with the insured.
    • Illness or death of the insured or a close relative. In case of illness, only a hospital is considered an insured event, if you get sick and even injured, but do not lie in the hospital, insurance is not paid.
    • Damage to the property of the insured (due to fire, flood, theft, theft, etc.). But usually it should be a large damage, its amount is stipulated by the contract. Not all insurance companies include this item in the policy.
    • Summons to the court (if at the time of the purchase of the tour the insured did not know about it), a summons to the military registration and enlistment office.
    • Late receipt of a visa.
    • Early return of a tourist from abroad in case of illness (subject to mandatory hospitalization) or death of his close relative. Not all insurance companies have it.

    Which travel expenses can be reimbursed by the insurance company in case of proven occurrence of an insured event:

    - Hotel accommodation
    – Meals, including meals in case of a delayed departure
    — Air flight or railway travel
    – Other modes of transport
    — Various prepaid services — excursions, tickets, etc.

    But keep in mind that even if an insured event occurs and after contacting the insurance company with the necessary package of supporting documents, the insurance company can sometimes still refuse to pay.

    In what cases are they usually NOT paid?

    • No compensation is provided for non-pecuniary damage.
    • If the companion of the insured cannot travel, then most often compensation is paid only on the condition that this is his close relative. The cost of returning before or after the trip is not covered by all insurance companies.
    • In some cases, tour operators may, in case of cancellation of the tour, impose fines stipulated by the contract for the provision of tourist services. Such expenses will be covered by travel cancellation insurance if this is expressly stated in the contract or insurance rules. At the same time, one-time payments and fees paid by the tourist are not reimbursed if they are not included in the package of tourist services. For example, the consular fee when applying for a visa.
    • In the case of illness, in most cases, only hospitalization and hospitalization are counted. Just a sick leave, including due to a fracture, for example, of a leg, if you are not in the hospital, this is not an insured event. Another nuance - if you have a chronic disease and you knew about it in advance, even in case of hospitalization - this will not be considered an insured event.
    • Natural disasters(tsunami, storm, volcanic eruption, etc.), any disturbances and uprisings in the country of destination are most often not taken into account as an insured event.
    • In case of any documentary problems: documents with false information or incomplete information were provided, or it will be revealed that the tourist intentionally increased the amount of loss, or the appeal to the insurance was too late (the deadlines for applying are set by the contract).
    • The tourist suffered in a state of alcoholic, toxic or drug intoxication.
    • Delay, transfer or cancellation of departure due to the fault of the carrier.
    • In case of refusal of a Schengen or other visa, if the insured has already had previous refusals. Also, some insurance companies do not reimburse expenses in case of refusal of a visa if the documents for the embassy were incorrectly executed or filled out. It does not matter whether the tourist filled out the documents on his own or with the help of a travel agency.
    • Intentional bodily injury or suicide.
    • Pregnancy.

    P.S. In general, decide for yourself whether you need such insurance or an option or not.
