The period of use of the vehicle in OSAGO. The period of using the car in OSAGO - what is the Period of using TS OSAGO

If you have just bought a car, then the validity of the OSAGO policy for it will be 1 year. But it may change due to various factors– driving experience and age of the owner of the vehicle. The term of the OSAGO policy may be shorter if the car owner plans to use the car, for example, only in summer or spring. This is very convenient for summer residents, tourists and other people who do not use the car all year round. Read about the minimum period for which OSAGO can be issued.

Quite often, car owners draw up an OSAGO policy for a period of three months. This option is suitable for people who often change vehicles, sell a car, or do not use it all year round, in this case it is possible to insure for a short period. Anyone can apply for such a policy. It costs two times cheaper than the usual one, which is issued for a year. If necessary, the car owner has the opportunity to purchase an OSAGO policy for 6 months. In this case, its cost will be 70% of the annual insurance.

Within six months, the car owner will have to pay monthly for insurance, while its cost will remain the same, even if there are changes in tariffs. You can read more about how to apply for OSAGO for 6, 3 or even 1 month in.

reference. In order to register a new car, the car owner will need to issue a policy for a period of 1 year. Under certain conditions, this term of OSAGO insurance can be changed.

The question is, “for how many days can I issue OSAGO?” appropriate, because the period of its validity can be calculated in months and even years, and few people know, the more the cheaper.

In order to register a vehicle, the policy must remain valid for at least 3 months (?). In other words, you will issue it for 1 year, but the policy will be valid for 3 or 6 months. Under such circumstances, the cost of OSAGO will be 40% of the cost of annual insurance.

There is also the so-called transit insurance, which is valid for 20 days. However, in this case, you will not be able to register the car.

What is the period of use of the car?

The period of use of the vehicle is indicated in the policy in the upper right corner of the document, immediately after the “Validity period of the OSAGO agreement”. The the indicator means exactly how many months a person will use his vehicle. Throughout the entire period, the insurance company will be obliged to bear responsibility for it.

If you intend to use the car throughout the year, then the period of use of the vehicle will coincide with the validity of the insurance policy.

It is worth noting that the shorter the car owner takes out insurance for his car, the more expensive it will cost him. Therefore, when answering the question - “for how long can a car be insured under OSAGO”, I would like to note that the more, the better and more profitable for you. A person can insure a vehicle for several months, but if desired, he can always increase the validity of the insurance. Read about when and how to renew the OSAGO policy.

On our portal you can also find important information about OSAGO insured events and restoration repairs. In we talked in detail about the timing of consideration of insured events and about when to write an application and how to start a case. And in you will find answers to questions about the time frame for restoration repairs and what to do in case of delay.

Calculation method

There is a basic cost of an OSAGO policy for a passenger car, and it is 4118 rubles.

You can calculate the total cost of the OSAGO policy yourself using the formula:

base cost * Kt * Kbm * Kvs * Ko * Km

Let us consider in more detail the meaning of these coefficients:

  • ct is the territorial coefficient. It is determined in accordance with the place of residence of the car owner.
  • cbm- this coefficient denotes the so-called discount to the car owner if he did not receive payments due to an accident in previous periods of insurance.
  • kvs- coefficient, the size of which depends on the age of the car owner, as well as on his driving experience.
  • Co.- the number of people who will drive the car.
  • km- coefficient, the size of which is affected by the power of the vehicle.

Accordingly, the more power the car has, the more expensive the insurance will cost you.

Surcharge or how can I extend the term?

It is easy to calculate the cost of renewal of the OSAGO policy. The contract with the insurance company is concluded for a year. This is indicated in the upper right corner of the document. The cost of the policy is an indicator that does not change.

The minimum period of car insurance is 3 months. Often it is drawn up by people who intend to sell the car soon. For three months of the policy, the car owner will have to pay exactly half of the cost of insurance for the year.

If during this time a person fails to sell the vehicle, then he can easily increase the period of validity of the insurance until the end of the year. In other words, insurance after renewal will end one year after the issuance of the policy.

The period of time in which the driver who bought the policy can count on payment after an accident is called the validity period. On the territory of the Russian Federation, the most common period of liability insurance is 1 year. However, few people know that insurance can be purchased for a shorter period.

At the same time, its value will be reduced in proportion to the period. What is the minimum term of insurance established by law? It depends on which of the three categories the car belongs to. There are only three categories:

  1. Cars that are used only in Russia. Such cars can be insured for a period of at least 3 months. Usually, this period is chosen by drivers who use a personal car for one season, for example, spring-summer (in order to go to the country).
  2. Cars with transit numbers. Insurance in this case, on the contrary, cannot be more than 20 days. It's called temporary. During this period, the driver usually removes or registers the car with the traffic police.
  3. Cars with permanent registration abroad. Usually these are cars of travelers from neighboring countries. They can insure the car for a period of at least 5 and no more than 15 days. Even if the traveler plans to enter for only one day.

Validity of the OSAGO policy and the period of use of the vehicle

It is worth noting that in OSAGO policies concluded for any period, there will always be a mark - 1 year. The number of months is prescribed separately and is called the period of use, which is actually the period in which the driver will use the car.

For example, a driver buys insurance for three months. He can choose a month in summer, a month in spring, and a month in winter. How comfortable he is. Accordingly, the insurance policy will cost less if you take it for such short periods. However, if we compare the cost of an annual policy for a month and a limited one for 3 months, then the annual one will cost less.

So, how much will the driver save if the period of use is 3 months? The coefficient will be - 0.5. To see the full table of coefficients, consider Figure 1.

When concluding an insurance contract, you must always clearly monitor the period of its validity and expiration. The law establishes a fine of 500 rubles for an overdue policy.

It is possible to extend the validity of OSAGO, limited by periods. It is absolutely not necessary to draw up a new policy every time, because, as we have already found out, this can be very unprofitable. If such a need arises, in most cases it is better to purchase a policy immediately for a whole year.

A short video will tell you more about these two concepts:

Grace month for OSAGO

Any OSAGO policy tends to end someday. Many drivers believe that after the expiration of the insurance, it is automatically extended for another year and you can continue to drive safely, paying for the next year in the near future. Some motorists believe that after the expiration of the policy they have a "grace month", something like a "bonus" period, which the insurer provides the driver.

Such misconceptions should be seriously guarded against. The norm, according to which the validity of the policy was extended for one month in the absence of a refusal by the insured, was valid until 2008. Currently, after the expiration of the policy, the driver does not have the right to drive a car. For such a violation, a fine and confiscation of rooms are threatened, and this is a very unpleasant procedure. In addition, in the event of an accident due to their own fault, the motorist will be responsible for their own financial resources.

Thus, such benefits are not provided for in the legislation and the driver should correctly plan the period of insurance and use of his car in advance.

In accordance with the norms of Russian legislation, the owner of the car must have the so-called insurance.

A newly acquired vehicle must be insured without fail no later than 10 days from the date of purchase.

The common period of an insurance policy is 1 year. In some cases, the policy is issued for a different period. How to do it correctly and what periods of use are possible?

First of all, we will deal with the concepts of the period of use of the policy and the duration of the insurance.

Identical definitions have a significant difference in meaning. The period of use under any circumstances is constant and is exactly 1 year. The duration of the insurance policy depends on the tariff and happens 3 months, 6, 9 months.

In fact, this is the period of time during which the driver uses the vehicle, and the insurance company is responsible for it. In the event of an accident, payments to victims are made at the expense of insurers. The main thing to remember is that this period can always be extended.

Term of vehicle insurance depends on the type, vehicle category and how it is used. As a rule, there are 3:

Vehicles used only on the territory of the Russian Federation. The validity of the policy in this case is at least 3 months. As a rule, this type of insurance is used by drivers according to the season, prescribing the summer or autumn months (for trips to summer cottages and vegetable gardens) in the insurance contract policy.

Cars with transit numbers. The policy of "autocitizen" is issued even for 20 days. But this is the case for drivers who drive vehicles across Russia to a settlement where registration and technical inspection will take place.

Such insurance is called "transit". Any person, not necessarily the owner, can issue it. A prerequisite here is the full legal capacity and adulthood of the designer. The lack of "transit" insurance entails penalties and the removal of the car with sending it to a car impound.

Motor transport with permanent registration abroad. As a rule, these are cars of tourists from neighboring countries. In this case, you can insure the car for no less than five and no more than fifteen days. Even if the traveler enters only for 1 day.

Price OSAGO insurance depends on the region, vehicle category, power, driving experience and age of drivers. For example, a driver purchases insurance for three months, indicating one month each in winter, summer and spring.

The OSAGO policy will be cheaper when choosing such intervals. But when comparing annual insurance for 1 month or three months, the price for the year will be cheaper.

Extension of the period of use of the vehicle in OSAGO

It is not difficult to extend the term of the “autocitizenship” policy with limited stages. There is no need to issue new policies. The best option would be to take out annual insurance. The price of annual OSAGO insurance is a constant value. However, car owners do not always pay annual insurance.

The smallest period of insurance - 3 months - is chosen by persons planning to sell the car in the near future. For 3 months under insurance, the insured pays half of the entire annual cost OSAGO.

In the event of a failed trade, insurance easily extended before the end of the policy year. In this case, the surcharge is made for the remaining 9 months and will eventually amount to the remaining half of the annual price of the "car citizen".

It is important to remember that the OSAGO contract will end sooner or later. Drivers mistakenly believe that after the expiration of the insurance policy, there is an automatic prolongation for another year. At the same time, they continue to ride, deciding that you can pay at any time.

Such car owners believe that they have a “grace month” left after the expiration of the insurance, the so-called "bonus" period, which is given to the driver by insurers.

These are profound misconceptions to be feared. The standard, according to which the validity of the insurance policy was extended for one month in the absence of disagreement of the insured, was applied until 2008.

Today, after the expiration of the insurance period, the car owner cannot drive a car. Such a violation entails by no means pleasant consequences - fines and confiscation of numbers.

In addition, in a traffic accident through his own fault, the driver will pay with personal financial resources.

As you can see, there are no grace periods in the legislation of the Russian Federation. This means that the driver needs to correctly plan in advance the time of using insurance and his own vehicle.

The cost of an OSAGO policy is calculated in accordance with the Guidelines approved by the PCA, according to the following formula

SP \u003d Tb x Kt x Kbm x Kvs x Ko x Km x Ks x Kp x Kn, where:

joint venture OSAGO policy cost
Tb Base rate
ct Primary use area ratio
cbm The ratio of the presence or absence of insurance payments
kvs Driver age and experience coefficient
Co. Coefficient of restriction on persons admitted to management
km Vehicle power factor
Ks Vehicle seasonal use coefficient
Kp Coefficient taking into account the term of insurance
Kn Insurance rate coefficient (gross violations)

As an example, let's calculate the cost of an OSAGO policy for a driver without driving experience who is under 22 years old using a passenger vehicle in Moscow, up to 100 hp. So: we will do the calculation according to the formula, substituting the values.

SP \u003d Tb x Kt x Kbm x Kvs x Ko x Km x Ks x Kp x Kn

7840.80 = 1980 x 2 x 1 x 1.8 x 1 x 1.1 x 1

The coefficients Kp and Kn are not applied in this case, because how Kp is applied in strictly defined cases, and Kn has not yet been put into effect.

You will find all the values of the coefficients used in the calculation below, on this page.

Base Rate (Tb)

Determined by the owner of the vehicle (individual or legal entity)

Territorial Use Ratio (Kt)

NOTE:

The coefficient is determined by the place of residence (permanent residence) of the OWNER of the vehicle, indicated in the passport of a citizen (for individuals), and at the place of registration of the vehicle (for legal entities); CT does not apply to civil liability insurance of vehicle owners for the period of travel to the place of registration.

11 0,6 12 6 3 1 M
12 0,55 13 6 3 1 M
13 0,5 13 7 3 1 M

NOTE:

For newly acquired KBM rights, 3 classes are established. When renewing the contract for accident-free driving, the cbm decreases. For example, if you have insured your car with a value of Kbm = 1, then if you drive without accidents, next year you will be charged with Kbm = 0.95.

But if you have made 1 accident due to your fault and 1 insurance payment has passed, then next year you will be subject to an increasing Kbm = 1.55 (see above in table 3 of the class, column 4), with 2 or more insurance payments to you will apply the maximum kbm.

Cbm DOES NOT APPLY when insuring:

  • trailers;
  • Vehicles registered in foreign countries;
  • Vehicles on their way to the place of registration.

Coefficient of age and experience of drivers (Kvs)

NOTE:

  • The quota applies if both the Owner and the Insured are individuals:
  • Kvs is determined for EVERY vehicle admitted to driving, at the same time, the value of the coefficient is set for the most inexperienced driver;
  • Kvs is NOT applied if KO = 1.8

Coefficient depending on the number of persons admitted to management (KO)

For this coefficient, it is expressed only in 2 rates - 1.0 and 1.8 KO = 1 applies:

  • If the Policyholder and the Owner are an individual;
  • Only the drivers specified in the policy are allowed to drive!

KO = 1.8 applies:

  • If the Policyholder and the Owner are a legal entity;
  • There are no restrictions on the number of drivers allowed to drive, when insuring individuals

NOTE: KO - not applicable for civil liability insurance of trailer owners

Coefficient depending on Vehicle Power (Km)

The distribution of power factors is as follows:

NOTE:

Information about the Power of the vehicle, is determined from:

  • Passports of the vehicle (PTS);
  • Certificate of registration of the vehicle (CTC).

If the engine power is indicated in the documents for the vehicle only in kilowatts, then when recalculated in horsepower, the ratio 1 kW = 1.36 hp is used.

Coefficient depending on the period of use of the vehicle (Ks)

NOTE:

Period within the term of the insurance contract

The minimum period of use is

  • For individuals - 3 months (KS = 0.5);
  • For legal entities - 6 months (KS = 0.7) - only with Special Insurance. Techniques!!!

Ks - DOES NOT apply to vehicle owners:

  • Next to the place of registration (transit);
  • Registered in foreign countries and temporarily used on the territory of the Russian Federation

Coefficient depending on the term of insurance (Kp)

KP is set in the range from 1 to 0.2

Coefficient of gross violations (KN)

Currently, until the creation of a single electronic database, NOT APPLICABLE

It will always be 1.5

The coefficient KN is applied only if:

  • The contract is concluded or extended for a new period equal to 1 year;
  • The owner of the vehicle does not change

There is at least one of the following violations:

  • Communication to the insurer of knowingly false information that affects the amount of the cost of the policy;
  • Intentional assistance to the occurrence of an insured event;
  • Causing harm in circumstances giving rise to recourse

>Features of OSAGO insurance: validity period, how to extend the period of use and fines

Policy duration

For what period can I get a policy to insure a car? The driver who purchases the policy can set its validity period. Most often, this period for most cases is a year, but if you wish, you can buy insurance for a shorter period of validity. At the same time, the cost of the policy will decrease in direct proportion to the term.
The state has established minimum terms for insurance of civil liability of car owners. These terms depend on the place of registration of the car and the length of stay of the driver in the country. Thus, 3 categories of vehicles are formed, each of which has its own minimum OSAGO validity period:

  1. Transport operated only in Russia. Most often, drivers choose the minimum insurance period for the purpose of traveling during a certain period of the year, for example, in the summer on vacation. The minimum term for this category is 3 months.
  2. Cars with transit numbers. Temporary insurance is allowed for a period not exceeding 20 days. In this case, the driver must contact the traffic police to register the vehicle.
  3. Cars registered abroad. Most often, this category includes car owners who come to Russia for a short period of time for work or leisure. The minimum period of OSAGO validity for them is 5 days, the maximum is 15.

Regardless of the period for which the policy is issued, the document always contains the mark “1 year”. But at the same time, a separate item indicates the period and period of use.

In order not to get a penalty for not having a policy, you need to monitor the terms of its validity and renew it as necessary. Driving on the road without having OSAGO insurance is prohibited.

Insurance calculation method

The cost of the policy is regulated by the base rate, which is the same for the entire territory of the Russian Federation. However, for this tariff, corrective coefficients are applied, which depend on certain operating conditions of the transport.

  1. Territorial - depends on the place of residence of the owner. Its value can vary from 1.5 to 2, and each city has its own coefficient.
  2. Bonus malus, takes into account a long period of driving without an accident. It changes annually and is assigned in the absence of payments under the previous OSAGO policy. It does not depend on the vehicle and the insurance company, it is assigned personally to the driver. When driving for a year without violations, this coefficient is 0.85.
  3. Driver's age. The greater the age and experience, the lower the coefficient. The maximum value is 1.7 (at the age of less than 22 years and the length of service is less than 3 years).
  4. Limiting - depends on the number of persons included in the policy:
    • up to 5 people - limited insurance, and the coefficient depends on age;
    • from 5 or more drivers - OK value - 1.8.
  5. Engine power - and depending on the car and its horsepower:
    • ≤50 – 0,6;
    • from 50 to 70 inclusive - 0.9;
    • from 70 to 100 incl. – 1.0;
    • from 100 to 120 incl. – 1.2;
    • from 120 to 150 incl. – 1.4;
    • more than 150 - 1.6.
  6. Seasonality - depends on the time of the year in which the car will be operated and ranges from 0.5 to 1.0. It is used in cases when insurance is purchased for a certain period, which is less than a year.
  7. Violations - if the driver has already been seen driving while intoxicated, escaping from the scene of an accident, intentionally creating an emergency, handing over the vehicle to a person not listed in the insurance or reporting false testimony. In such cases, the coefficient is 1.5.
  8. Term of insurance - from 0.2 to 1.0, depending on the duration of the insurance.

Regardless of the insurance company, the price of the policy should not change. Insurance agents are not entitled to overestimate the cost of insurance or provide a discount - this is prohibited by law.

The formula for calculating the cost of an OSAGO policy is as follows:

Price=BT*TK*CBM*KVS*OK*KMD*KS*KN*KSS, where:

BT - basic tariff. The remaining components of the formula are listed in the list of coefficients above, in the same order.

The basic fare depends on the type of car, its tonnage and the number of seats for passengers. Therefore, it cannot be the same for cars, trucks, buses and other vehicles. For cars with a capacity of 5 people (driver + 4 passengers), the basic fare is:

  1. for individuals - 1980 rubles;
  2. for LLC - 2375 rubles;
  3. for a car used as a taxi - 2965 rubles.

This rate has been in effect throughout Russia since 2004.

Features of the extension of the contract

Prolongation is the key to the smooth movement of the driver in the car within the country. Therefore, many vehicle owners tend to extend the OSAGO in advance. Legislative norms on the prolongation of public contracts regulate that the owner of a car can apply to the insurance company on the issue of extending insurance no earlier than 30 days before the expiration of the policy.

The new policy cost will be recalculated based on cost calculation factors that may change over the past year (or other period specified in the document). It is not necessary to apply to the same insurance company - the insurer can be changed at the request of the driver.

Important! Before the renewal, it is necessary to pass the MOT of the vehicle.

This will require the following documents:

  1. the passport;
  2. driver's license;
  3. car passport;
  4. diagnostic card;
  5. previous policy.

In the event of a change in the insurer, you will additionally need to sign an application for the conclusion of an insurance contract. The form will be provided by the company, the driver will only need to enter the correct data in it. If the owner of the vehicle cannot be present at the renewal, a power of attorney with a list of powers of the authorized person will be required.

Penalty for driving a vehicle during a period of use not covered by the policy

Each driver driving a car must have a driver's license, documents for the car and an OSAGO insurance policy (clause 2.1 of article 2 of the SDA). In the absence of a policy, in accordance with Article 12.37 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation and Part 2 of Article 12.3, the amount of the fine will be 800 and 500 rubles (without and with an overdue policy, respectively).

Article 12.37 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation. Failure to comply with the requirements for compulsory civil liability insurance of vehicle owners

  1. Driving a vehicle during the period of its use, not covered by the insurance policy of compulsory insurance of civil liability of vehicle owners, as well as driving a vehicle in violation of the conditions of driving this vehicle provided for by this insurance policy only by the drivers indicated in this insurance policy shall entail the imposition of an administrative fine in the amount of five hundred rubles.
  2. Failure by the owner of a vehicle to fulfill the obligation established by federal law to insure his civil liability, as well as driving a vehicle, if such compulsory insurance is known to be absent, shall entail the imposition of an administrative fine in the amount of eight hundred roubles.

Use our online calculator to calculate OSAGO online - compare prices in various insurance companies. Save between RUB 1,498 and RUB 3,980 as the base rate can vary by 20%. No need to go to the office - you will receive an insurance policy to your e-mail
Obtaining an OSAGO policy is the responsibility of every law-abiding driver. In the absence of such insurance, the owner of the car, in case of his fault in an accident, will not only receive a fine for not having a policy, but will also be forced to cover the costs of the insurance company of the victim. Therefore, you need to take care of purchasing OSAGO immediately when buying a car, and about its extension in advance.

At the moment, the cost of a motor citizen can be calculated for 3 categories of vehicles:

  1. For vehicles registered in foreign countries.
  2. For vehicles heading to the place of registration (transit workers) or to undergo technical inspection.
  3. To register the vehicle with the traffic police and further use on the territory of the Russian Federation.

Accordingly, each category has its own minimum insurance period. For the first one, it is from 5 to 15 days, i.e. for an OSAGO agreement that “fits” into this interval, the insured will pay the same amount.

For drivers driving vehicles across Russia to the place of permanent registration or following the PIK (technical inspection), the insurance period is always the same - 20 days, no less and no more.

The latter, the main group of car owners, concludes a standard OSAGO agreement, the calculation procedure for which is the same for all insurance companies in the Russian Federation. Let us dwell in more detail on this policy of auto-citizenship.

The term of insurance and the period of use in the OSAGO policy

To begin with, let's deal with the terms used when applying for OSAGO insurance: "Term of the contract" and "Period of using the vehicle."

Term of insurance. In the upper right corner of the OSAGO policy, the “Validity period of the OSAGO agreement” is entered, and it is ALWAYS 1 year.

period of use. It is indicated in the next line of the policy and determines the months during the term of the contract (policy year) when the car owner will use his vehicle, and the insurer will be responsible for it. If the driver plans to use the car for the whole year, the period of use coincides with the annual validity period of OSAGO.

But not all car owners operate their vehicle all year round. A limited period of use (several months per year) is relevant, in particular:

  • for "snowdrops" who use the car exclusively in the warm season;
  • for those who plan to sell the vehicle in the near future;
  • for car owners leaving on long business trips, vacations, etc.

And of course, the fewer months a year a driver uses his car, the lower the cost of OSAGO insurance for him.

The minimum period of use, or the cheapest OSAGO

Today, you can conclude an OSAGO contract for at least 3 months (do not forget the period of use within the framework of annual insurance).

In general, when calculating OSAGO for several months, the following table is used.

Table 1. The dependence of the cost of insurance on its duration.

table scrolls to the right
Insurance periodCoefficient Kp
3 months0,5
4 months0,6
5 months0,65
6 months0,7
7 months0,8
8 months0,9
9 months0,95

The cost of OSAGO for 10 and 11 months will cost the annual insurance.

Important:

  • Car owners who take out OSAGO for several months a year pay more for each month than those who buy a policy for a whole year.
  • The cost of annual OSAGO insurance will not change during the annual insurance period indicated in the policy, even if rates increase during this year. When issuing a policy for several months, be sure to find out the cost of annual OSAGO insurance, at least in order to know the subsequent surcharge (if it is required in case of an increase in the period of use).
    You can insure for several months, and then, if necessary, pay extra and extend the period of use.
  • The period of use in the CMTPL policy form is “broken” into several parts. That is, you can immediately “paint” the entire insurance year in advance when applying for OSAGO.
    For example: 1 month in winter, 3 months in summer, 1 month in autumn and other variations. When paying, only the total number of months in a year matters.

Additional payment for the OSAGO policy, or how to extend the period of use

The arithmetic is simple. The OSAGO insurance contract is always concluded for a year (see the upper right corner of the policy). The annual cost of the policy is a constant value.

As a rule, those who plan to sell it in the near future insure their car for a minimum period of 3 months. And, as can be seen from the table, for 3 months the insured will have to pay half of the annual cost of OSAGO.

If, for some reason, the sale does not take place, the insurance can easily be extended until the end of the policy year. At the same time, the additional payment for the remaining 9 months will be the remaining half of the annual cost of OSAGO (the same amount as you paid for the first 3 months).

Accordingly, as can be seen from the table, having paid 0.7 annual OSAGO for the first six months, for the remaining 6 months you will need to pay 0.3 annual insurance.

How to save on OSAGO policy

It is known that the OSAGO Rules do not provide for payment of a motor vehicle citizen in installments.

But no one bothers the driver to first pay for 3 months (0.5 annual insurance), then extend the policy for another 3 months (0.2 annual insurance), and then pay only 0.3 annual amount for the remaining six months. In fact, it turns out the same installment plan. If you don't mind the time, it's very beneficial given certain financial difficulties and our level of inflation.

The main thing is not to forget to extend the period of use in advance. Otherwise, the insurer has the right to take for the following months, as for the first, i.e. with increasing coefficient Kp.

Penalty for driving a vehicle during the period of use not covered by the OSAGO policy

Driving a vehicle during a period not covered by the OSAGO policy entails a fine of 300 rubles. Don't settle for more.

Let's explain with an example. If the term of OSAGO insurance is from May 5 to May 4, and the period of use is from May 5 to August 4 (3 months), then driving a vehicle after August 4 and before May 4, you risk your wallet.

The main thing is not to confuse failure to fulfill the civil obligation to insure under OSAGO (i.e., the complete absence of an OSAGO agreement), which is punishable by a fine of 500-800 rubles or removal of numbers, and forgetfulness to extend the period of use within the insurance year.

If an accident occurs during the period not covered by the OSAGO policy, the insurance company will pay the victim, but then present a recourse claim to the negligent insured and force him to reimburse his expenses.

So:

  • You can conclude an OSAGO agreement for a limited period of time - for 3, 4, 5, etc. months.
  • In this case, the insurance premium for the first months will be calculated with a multiplying coefficient.
  • The policyholder has the right to extend the period of use for any number of months, respectively, paying extra for them, up to the end of the policy year.
  • The total cost of OSAGO for the year should be the same, both with a one-time payment and with payment in installments, by months.
