Renowned Russian financier, manager and investment specialist. For six years Andrei has been the executive director of Troika Dialog. He earned his first million as a top manager; eventually, however, he got bored of working for someone else - and Movchan set up his own investment company, Renaissance Investment Management. At the moment, Andrey is the managing partner of the Third Rome investment group.

For his work, Andrey was awarded a number of awards and prizes. Forbes magazine named Movchan the most successful head of a management company in the whole of Russia; RBC awarded Andrey the title of "Top Manager of the Year". Movchan's project, "Renaissance Investment Management", was also recognized financial company of the year.

Andrei never aspired to high, leading positions; in fact, by his first education, he is not an economist or a manager at all - initially Movchan was going to become a physicist. Unfortunately, this profession was not profitable enough; to support his family, Andrei was forced to change his field of activity. Of course, in the process of obtaining a master's degree in business management, Andrei learned a lot of very, very useful things; Movchan, however, has always argued that the main thing in his business is to treat the economy as a game, and not the only and most important business of his life.

Now more than 600 individual private investors alone participate in Andrey's funds; Foreign companies also use the services of Movchan's company - there are many of the largest banks and funds among Andrey's foreign investors.

On modern investment market Andrey and his "RIM" occupy one of the most important positions - at least at the Russian level. Movchan attracts clients, first of all, by its utmost honesty - his company willingly provides investors with specific data on the current state of affairs in stock markets... Among other things, Andrey is always

tries to enlighten clients as widely as possible in financial plan- indeed, an educated investor is able to use his funds much more efficiently, which ultimately benefits the company as a whole.

Business requires maximum concentration from Andrey; the businessman, however, manages to allocate time for his family. Movchan has four children. Andrey's eldest daughter is 20 years old; she is going to become a medic and plans to continue her studies at Harvard. The second daughter is 16 years old; she enjoys music and is learning to play the saxophone. The world of art is also interesting for the third, 11-year-old daughter - she, however, is much closer to the theater; however, the girl is also quite good at exact sciences. The youngest of Andrei's children, a 9-month-old son, has not yet decided on his profession - however, Movchan is sure that the only boy will also show his talents in the future.

Andrei's wife - despite her 9-month-old baby - also works. She is a cardiologist by profession, but now she devotes much more time to a number of venture capital projects in the pharmaceutical industry and is working on creating her own medical center. It would seem that two so busy people should meet only at night, in bed; Movchan and his wife, however, always find time for one common hobby - ballroom dancing. According to Andrey, dancing is a rather useful business for a businessman - there are not so many activities in this world that can better "saturate" you with a clean, uncomplicated idea of team activity.

Andrey Andreevich Movchan has been the director of the program “ Economic policy”Implemented by the Carnegie Moscow Center. Prior to that, he worked for about twenty years in the field banking services and investment.

Education

Andrei Movchan is a physicist by his first higher education. From 1982 to 1992 he studied at the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics of Moscow State University. M.V. Lomonosov. The choice of a profession was influenced by the family, especially his father, who devoted his life to this science, received the degree of professor and doctor of science. Andrey's grandfather was also engaged in physics, he published two hundred scientific works and 38 monographs. The second grandfather was also engaged in scientific activities, studying mechanics.

A few years after graduating from university, Andrei Movchan decides to change his field of activity. In 1995-1996 he was educated at the Finance Academy under the government of the Russian Federation. In addition, in the period from 2001 to 2003 Movchan studied at the School of Business. Booth, operating at the University of Chicago.

Personal life

Despite the focus on career and permanent employment, the financier pays great attention to his loved ones. He is the father of four children - three daughters and a son. His wife Olga is a cardiologist by profession. The couple's eldest daughter also decided to become a doctor; she has already started her own family. The two middle daughters are fond of art - music and theater. The youngest son is only 5 years old, it is too early to talk about his inclinations or talents. But the parents are engaged in the all-round development of the boy, try to travel with him in their free time, walk in the parks.

According to Andrei, it was close people who largely influenced his choice of profession. The work on the first education could not provide the needs of the family, financial stability.

Therefore, he decided to change his activity to a more profitable one and began to study banking. Although Andrei showed a penchant for leadership and communication as a child. At the age of 5-6, he often attracted the attention of adults because he was a constant initiator of noisy children's games in the yard.

Life position

Despite a successful career and constant self-education, A. Movchan does not give the impression of a person overloaded with problems. His articles are not only professional, but also written in an accessible language. This person remains so in life - he prefers not to take the economy too seriously, to perceive it as an exciting game, to do what is interesting at the moment.

Well-known Russian economist Andrei Movchan gave an interview to Echo Moskvy radio and RTVi TV channel, in which he commented on the important events of recent days. Novye Izvestia publishes the most interesting excerpts from this interview:

"It always seemed to me that a person's strength lies in his ability to admit mistakes or compromise. Aggressive people are usually weak. And I do not understand why a strong government is better than a weak one. A strong government that does not pay attention to protests, in my opinion, is worse than the weak that converts.

In general, what is a government? - the government is the executive body of a collective phantom called the State.

We all gathered and said that now we are all together this state and we need to choose people who will act in our favor and in our interests. If after that they become strong and ignore our interests, then something went wrong. I don't need such a strong government.

For me, a strong government is one that knows how, in accordance with my wishes and interests, to create the rules of the game and regulate the situation so that it would be better for me. Then it is strong. And if I come to him and say that I do not like what you are doing, they change what they do. And that is his strength. A government that makes decisions on its own, but spits on me - I just don't need it, no matter how strong it may be.

Remember what happened with the student unrest in the late 60s. Then a lot has changed. Not because the French sat down and decided, but let's change it, but because they had no choice. And they seriously expected that there would be a revolution. And seriously, people, long after that, were afraid that this could happen again.

If a powerful anti-government movement arises in the country, and even supported by people who are ready to take certain risks, then how does France differ from Ukraine? This has to be reckoned with until it turns into a fire, while it is still just a fire ...

In Russia, we have not only a fire, we have a refrigerator. A meeting of liberals and a rally of 100 schoolchildren on the street is not a threat to the authorities. And Putin perfectly understands, as a person who actively measures public opinion, that public opinion is now, if not on his personal side, then on the side of stability. And therefore, these micro-assemblies can be ignored.

Of course, if 500 thousand people unauthorizedly enter the square in Moscow, then all the conditions will be fulfilled. I believe that 500 thousand who came to the unauthorized rally, without a single cobblestone, will achieve their goals. And if they do not achieve them, then they will have time to pick up the cobblestones and achieve their goals. A thousand or two thousand who came to an unauthorized rally with any number of cobblestones will achieve nothing. That, in fact, is all. Two thousand people with cobblestones are criminals, 500 thousand without cobblestones are the people who rule the country.

Today, 500 thousand people do not come precisely because there is no request for an exit of 500 thousand people. Today's Russian society is conditionally one third loyal and is ready to trust Putin and his constructions, including United Russia, one third is loyal and ready to trust the communists, liberal democrats and all populists who call them to the left.

And the rest are more or less amorphous people who would like liberal democratic changes. In society - well, 10%, maybe 15. But if I say 15, then I immediately mean that within these 15% there are 25 different opinions about how it should be. And these people cannot agree with each other, and leaders like Alexei Navalny are doing everything so that these people never come to an agreement with each other. And now it is possible to bring 500 thousand people to the square in an amicable way only under one slogan: monetary policy... Big pensions for everyone.
