Floor sizes in a multi-storey residential building
Depending on the materials used in the construction of the building, the following types can be distinguished:

Standardization of the elevator dimension
When building houses, if the building exceeds the height of 5 floors, it is necessary to install an elevator. Depending on the number of tiers of the building, the house can be installed from 1 to 4 elevators.
The minimum width for an elevator structure is 2.1 meters and a depth of 1 meter (to accommodate medical personnel with a stretcher). The building design must include an emergency exit. If the number of storeys is less than 9 floors, only 1 exit is allowed, if the building has 9 to 18 storeys, there must be at least two exits. If the house belongs to high-rise or type III multi-storey buildings, an emergency exit must be on each floor.
Another important requirement for buildings with a height of 10 levels or more is the presence of a smoke-free staircase. Such sites are very convenient for evacuation, but during operation in everyday life they cause discomfort. Therefore, the most commonly used practice in the construction of multi-storey buildings has become the design of a conventional staircase hall plus several external staircases.
Fire safety conditions apply to corridors as well. With a room length of no more than 40 meters, its width should be 1.4 m, if the length exceeds the specified distance - 1.6 m wide. In such long corridors of multi-storey buildings, it is recommended to install doors with a fireproof coating every 30 meters.
Important! It is also allowed to install doors with reinforced glass on staircases and elevators.
The entire load-bearing structure of the building, walls, partitions located in the house, as well as staircases, must be made of materials that are least susceptible to combustion. The same rule applies to floors between basement levels.
Dimensions of the vestibule in a residential building
A tambour in a residential building is the space between the entrance door to the apartment and the door for entering the house / entrance (for 1 floor) and the area between the door of the apartment and the stairs (for the rest of the tiers of a multi-storey building).

In addition to elevators, multi-storey buildings must have stairs. The sites on each level are designed depending on the number of storeys of the building and the number of apartments on the floor. The minimum width is set at 1.25 m.
There are also basement tiers in residential buildings. Their height is usually 1.8 m. But depending on what equipment is planned to be installed, the height can reach 2.3 m. According to safety standards, this area must have two exits.
It is important to note! The dimensions of the basement floor also depend on the number of storeys of the building. The height of the basement in multi-storey buildings is 2.1 m, and the distance from the ground should not be more than two meters.
An attic is always built above the last floor of the building. Most often, its height is 1.6-1.8 m.
