Unified Internet portal of financial literacy of the population. The National Bank launched the Internet service "IBAN Calculator" (updated) Transfer calculator to new settlement accounts

IBAN (International Bank Account Number) is the bank account number according to international standard ISO 13616:2007. It is also called the IBAN code (IBAN code).

The IBAN code officially appeared in 2007. Its appearance was originally intended to standardize settlements between banks in the European Union (EC).

The IBAN code is used not only in the EU, but also in other countries of the world. Using encoding guidelines bank accounts speeds up and reduces the cost of interbank payments.

From July 4, 2017, through the efforts of the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus, Belarus joins the international numbering of accounts and abandons its old one.

Each country independently determines the length of the IBAN code. The maximum possible length is 34 characters. In Belarus, the National Bank has established IBAN accounts with a length of 28 characters.

The IBAN structure looks like this:

  • the first two letters indicate the state where the account is located. For Belarus it is BY;
  • the next two digits are the IBAN check number for checking the correctness of the account;
  • the remaining characters encoded the sign of the bank and the number of the bank account.

For example, until July 4, 2017, the Inspectorate for the Tax Ministry for the Zavodskoy district of Minsk had an account number 3602911010004 in Belarusbank. Bank code: 153001795.

After the transition to the new numbering, the account will look like this.

Your bank information is safe as we do not store or view any data you entered.

To generate IBAN for account number in Belarus , type SWIFT/BIC Code, Branch Code, Account Number in the specified field in the IBAN Calculator below.

Make sure the length and value you enter, follow the format specified on the right of the field. Please omit any blanks or dash.

If your account number length is less than the specified length, insert zeros in front of the account number to get the right length.

The downside of international transfers with your bank

When you send or receive an international wire with your bank, you might lose money on a bad exchange rate and pay hidden fees as a result. That's because the banks still use an old system to exchange money. We recommend you use TransferWise , which is usually much cheaper. With their smart technology:

  • You get a great exchange rate and a low, upfront fee every time.
  • You move your money as fast as the banks, and often faster – some currencies go through in minutes.
  • Your money is protected with bank-level security.
  • You join over 2 million customers who transfer in 47 currencies across 70 countries.

About IBAN Generation Tool

I BAN Generation tool is designed to create a valid International Bank Account Number (IBAN) base on Local Bank Code, Local Branch Code & Local Account Number base on the country the bank is located. The IBAN generator supports all SEPA countries and banks

The tool will check the length of the Local Bank Code, Local Branch Code & Local Account Number to confirm with the standard, calculate mathematical checksum and check IBAN structure in order to determine if the IBAN generated is valid.

Kindly take note that, these tools do not actually check if the IBAN is exist with the bank.

The tool is provided for informational purposes only. Whilst every effort is made to provide accurate data, users must acknowledge that this website accepts no liability whatsoever with respect to its accuracy. Only your bank can confirm the correct bank account information. If you are making an important payment, which is time critical, we recommend to contact your bank first.

The converter carries out the transfer of currencies at the most current rate of the National Bank of Belarus. The online calculator conducts several dozen operations to transfer one currency to another. By default, the currency converter displays reliable information for today in relation to one US dollar. When entering a different amount in any other field, the remaining values are automatically recalculated at the exchange rate National Bank RB.

An online currency converter will help track the latest changes in a certain currency at the NBRB rate, most often people are interested in:

Exchange rate analysis using a currency converter

You can use not only the currency calculator for today, but also transfer money for the past period. To do this, just click on the calendar in the upper right corner of the screen and select the desired date. This will help to analyze the feasibility of the earlier monetary transaction.

Each page of the currency is provided with visual graphs and tables that show the dynamics of its change relative to Belarusian ruble. Online calculator exchange rate has a wide base of foreign currencies with detailed data for every day for four months.

This is the very first and most important verification step that we perform.
The check characters include two characters located at positions 3 and 4 in the IBAN.
Symbols are calculated based on the MOD97 algorithm and allow the first validation of the IBAN number.
This check is supported in all 116 countries.

If an error occurs at this stage, we do not perform further verification, because. IBAN is known to be incorrect.

IBAN support in the country

Our system automatically checks if the IBAN can be used in the country specified in the code.
If an error occurs, the user will see a message stating that the IBAN is not used in the country.

This can only happen if you use software Low quality.

IBAN Length

Checking the length of the IBAN code is the third step in checking the code you entered.
Each of the 116 countries has its own IBAN code length.

Possible test results:

IBAN length is correct for UK
In the country ***COUNTRY*** IBAN includes **N** characters

If the International Bank Account Number is different, then it is considered invalid.

Account Number Checksum (BBAN)

Any IBAN code includes an internal BBAN account number (Primary bank number accounts).
In some countries, additional characters are used to verify the correctness of the BBAN.
Each country uses its own algorithm, and it may differ even for different bank branches.

  • United Kingdom (UK) uses 3 different algorithms: MOD10 , MOD11 and DBLAL with 39 metrics. So we have over 100 variations
  • Holland (NL) uses the MOD11 algorithm with different parameters to check the account number. France (FR) uses MOD97 with various options
  • Germany (DE) uses a complex structure based on 143 algorithms and parameters: MOD10, MOD11, MOD7, etc.
  • Italy (IT) uses a modified MOD10 algorithm to validate internal bank accounts
  • Sweden (SE) uses 5 different algorithms: MOD11 and MOD10 with different parameters
After completing all the verification steps, the system will send one of the following results:

Correct account number checksum- You can use the number as correct.

Incorrect account number checksum- You can't use the number. Most likely it contains an error.

Account number does not support verification- Many countries and banks do not support account number verification. In this case, you should use check characters to evaluate the IBAN.

Currently, 48 countries support checking BBAN and internal account number using verification characters.

IBAN format and structure

In the second step, we check the International Bank Account Number structure.
We know all the rules and requirements in each of the countries that govern the use of IBAN.
This check can be useful if your selected country does not use check characters.

This check can have the following results:

Correct IBAN format and structure!

Wrong IBAN format and structure!

Formatting

Our algorithm allows you to determine the IBAN formats in all 116 countries.

When checking the number format, we take into account:

  • Bank code position- allows you to determine the correct location of the bank identifier
  • Branch code position- Branch code is not used in all countries. We check for 58 countries
  • Check character position- Not available in all countries. We check for 58 countries
Structure

The structure check includes checking the location of special characters in different parts of the IBAN.
Structure validation is carried out for 116 countries.

During structure validation, we determine:

  • Bank code contains only letters, only numbers, letters and numbers
  • Branch code contains only letters, only numbers, letters and numbers
  • Internal account number contains only letters, only numbers, letters and numbers

The decision to create an IBAN calculator was made by the Board of the National Bank in connection with the transition from 07/04/2017 to IBAN and BIC and was of a temporary nature. The purpose of this decision was to help representatives of the corporate sector, the business community and reduce the risks associated with untimely receipt from counterparties and processing of data on IBAN account numbers during the transition period.

The operation of the IBAN calculator was discontinued on 01/01/2018. There are no plans to reopen it.

We believe that the period of operation of the IBAN calculator was sufficient to analyze the agreements concluded with counterparties and take the measures provided for by the terms of these agreements and (or) regulatory legal acts aimed at bringing the agreements in line with the law.

For up-to-date bank details counterparties, we recommend interacting directly with counterparties in accordance with the law.
